Mr. Earnest DeLoach, Jr. is the son of the late Earnest DeLoach, Sr., a former heavy equipment operator for the City of Daytona Beach, and the late Eunice DeLoach, a former middle school teacher.  A native of Daytona Beach, Florida, Mr. DeLoach attended Volusia County public schools and graduated with highest honors from Spruce Creek High School’s International Baccalaureate program in 1992.  A National Achievement Scholar, and recipient of the prestigious Isaac Bashevis Singer full-tuition academic scholarship, he went on to pursue a dual major in International Studies and Political Science at the University of Miami.  While at UM, Mr. DeLoach was a member of the varsity track team, founded an organization designed to inspire and encourage African American males, and worked part time as an Assistant District Representative for United States Senator Bob Graham.  He received multiple awards for academic achievement and community service, including induction into the Golden Key and Omicron Delta Kappa honor societies, Wilson-Williams-Marshall (University of Miami Black Faculty) Association Full Tuition Academic Scholarship, the Minority Participation in Legal Education Pre-Law Scholarship, Yellow Rose Society Man of the Year, and United Black Students Senior Service Award.

After graduating with honors from UM, Mr. DeLoach matriculated to Florida State University College of Law where he distinguished himself as a gifted advocate as a member of both the Mock Trial and Moot Court teams.  Mr. DeLoach was twice named “Best Advocate” at the Florida Bar sponsored Chester Bedell Mock Trial Competition, and was named Second Best Oralist at the Tulane University National Sports Law Moot Court Competition.  For his efforts, Mr. DeLoach was inducted into the Order of Barristers. While at FSU, Mr. DeLoach also served as Student Bar Association vice president and president (the first African-American to do so), Chairman of the Law School Appropriations Committee, and delegate to the Congress of Graduate Students prior to his graduation in 1999.  At his graduation ceremony, Mr. DeLoach was presented with the Florida State University College of Law Student Service Award.

For the past twelve years, he has worked as a business and commercial attorney with the some of the area’s most well-respected firms, including most recently, Shutts and Bowen LLP.  In 2006 Mr. DeLoach established DeLoach Law LLC, and in 2010 merged his firm with that of his college best friend, Attorney Andre’ T. Young, forming Young DeLoach PLLC .  Mr. DeLoach continues to represent and counsel business and governmental clients regarding their litigation, transactional, business development, and corporate formation needs, and because of his new association, now offers  personal injury, estate planning and bankruptcy protection services.  The firm, based in Orlando, looks forward to opening a new office in Daytona Beach, Florida, and is proud to serve as the representative for Northern and Central Florida on behalf of the National Law Group, a consortium of Black-owned trial law firms.   To date,  Mr. DeLoach has successfully represented hundreds of clients in various forums, including trial by jury, bench trials, binding arbitrations, administrative hearings and appeals, and appellate oral arguments (for which Mr. DeLoach has seven reported cases.)  Mr. DeLoach is currently authorized to practice in State and Federal Courts in Florida, and anxiously anticipates  being admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and before the United States Supreme Court later this year.

In addition to his law practice, Mr. DeLoach has also twice served as a Florida Ninth Judicial Circuit Civil Traffic Infraction Hearing Officer,  and is currently the hearing officer for Orange County, Florida’s Utilities Department. Additionally, Mr. DeLoach has served as an adjunct professor, lecturer and mock trial coach at Valencia State College, Florida A&M University College of Law, and Barry University School of Law.  A sought after speaker, Mr. DeLoach has addressed various  civic and student groups regarding citizen’s rights when interacting with the police, contract and construction law, interviewing skills, bar passage, solo and small law firm practice, personal and professional development and branding.   In 2009, Mr. DeLoach was a featured speaker at Steve Harvey’s ‘Dreamers and Doers” Academy.  Mr. DeLoach is also published in various Continuing Legal Education materials.  Finally, Mr. DeLoach is the managing principal of DeLoach Consulting LLC, a business and personal development, and governmental relations firm.

Mr. DeLoach has also given generously of his time and talents to various civic organizations over the years, including: Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Tiger Bay Club of Central Florida, Inc., 100 Black Men of Orlando, Inc., the African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida, Inc. Board of Governors, Citrus Civitan of Central Florida, Boys and Girls Club- Downtown Orlando Board of Directors, Paul C. Perkins Bar Association and the Virgil Hawkins Chapter of the National Bar Association .  He is the former Vice Chairman of the City of Orlando Minority Certification Review Board, and former Chairman of the Orange County Citizen’s Review Board .  Currently, Mr. DeLoach serves on the Orange County Charter Review Commission, and the Orange County School Board Reapportionment Committee. For his efforts, Mr. DeLoach has received numerous academic, professional and civic honors, including 2007 Orlando Business Journal “Most Influential Men” Nominee, 2008 Florida Trend Legal Elite “Up and Comer” Award, and the 2008 FAMU College of Law Spirit of Service Award, the 2009 Turner Construction/City of Orlando Construction, and a member of the 2010 class for the Greater Orlando Chamber of Commerce Political Leadership Institute. Finally, Mr. DeLoach has proudly formally and informally mentored African-American law students, having initiated a minority law student reception and intern program at Shutts and Bowen in 2004 and 2005, and continuing to employ minority law interns in his firm every semester since 2006.

In his spare time, Mr. DeLoach enjoys playing and watching sports, listening to good music, and spending time with his wife of 7 years, Assistant Orange County Attorney Andrea DeLoach, and their adorable son, Earnest Elijah DeLoach.
