John Walker-Turner, Sr., is the principal at the Law Offices of Walker Turner, P.A., located in Greenbelt, Maryland. Over the past 11 years he has successfully represented a vast number of clients before both judges and juries. His main practice area is civil litigation, but he also has extensive experience in the areas of criminal defense, auto accidents, family law and business development.
A native Washingtonian, Mr. Walker-Turner, attended the University of the District of Columbia were he earned and received both his Bachelor of Science and Jurist Doctorate degrees. While at UDC, he served as the director of advertising and marketing for the undergraduate student news paper, Trilogy, and while in law school served two terms as the president of the Black Law Student Association (BLSA), which during his tenure as president was named chapter of the year for the mid-atlantic region.
After graduating from law school and passing the Maryland bar exam, in 1999 Mr. Walker-Turner founded the Law Offices of Turner & Associates that subsequently became and remains the Law Offices of Walker Turner, P.A. Besides the practice of law, Mr. Walker-Turner is active in both the community and the legal profession. In 2000, he was elected by the citizens of Washington, DC to serve on the board of the Advisory Neighborhood Commission.
Mr. Walker-Turner currently is the President-elect of the J. Franklyn Bourne Bar Association, the largest minority legal organization in both Prince Georges County, Maryland and Montgomery County, Maryland. He also served as President of the Young Lawyers Division of the National Bar Association. Mr. Walker-Turner is a member of various organizations and associations including the Maryland State Bar Association, National Bar Association, Washington Bar Association and the Prince George’s County Bar Association.
